We do things differently.

Fifteen years of Fortune 500 design work. The craft, the process, the refusal to settle. It's a lot to bring to a nursery, and it's exactly what your child's room deserves.

Wall art for kids, by kids

"Where is this cobra? In the desert?" Doug tilts his head. He's seven, and he knows exactly what he wants. "No," he says, as if it were obvious. "In the jungle."

Of course. The jungle. Palms and monstera, dappled light, a cobra who's completely at home. Not scary. Not cutesy. Alive.

Every mural starts here, with an interview to find the answers. A basilisk, not just any lizard. The dragon needs shiny scales and, specifically, not-rusty nails. The dad fox is out hunting. It's why the mother and cubs are curled so close. Every detail a child provides makes it more than just a mural. It's a story wall, a glimpse of a much larger world.

A downward-sloping curve with an arrow pointing upward at the start and another in the middle, illustrating a decreasing trend.

See how a mural begins.

“Every artist needs an art director. Mine is eight.”

Colorful watercolor painting of tropical plants and leaves, featuring a dragonfly and vibrant flower petals.

His idea

Every artist needs an art director. Mine is eight. Nestled near mama fox's tail, there's a beetle with its legs sticking straight up. His idea. When I couldn't get it right from his description, he drew it for me.

Quirky, unexpected, the sort of detail only a child would dream up. The sort of detail that brings a piece to life.

How we build each story wall

40 to 80 hours of sketching, revising, and painting go into each original. Then I scan it on a drum scanner (the kind used for museum archives) and print it in rich color on woven fabric, never vinyl.

Feel every brushstroke. Every imperfect, layered watercolor edge. Whether you're across the room or snuggled right next to it.
