Our Story
I'm Chanelle. For over a decade, I was a Creative Director. I prepared Xbox packaging for print. I built worlds for Pokémon characters: a mood, a character, an entire story, all in one frame.
Turns out, it was all just preparation.
My most important client
9 years ago, I was expecting my son, Calvin. Decorating his nursery was a mix of excitement and a little heartache. He'd been with me, literally part of me, for so long that the idea of him being even one room away felt...exposed.
I wanted those blank walls to feel like a big, cozy hug. A place where every corner whispers, "You're loved more than you can imagine." But nothing I found felt right. The decor options were too small, too impersonal, or worse, toxic vinyl.
So, I grabbed my brushes and painted my first peel-and-stick mural. My friends loved it. They encouraged me to do more, and that little spark grew into Whales & Willows.
Calvin & me
He's the spark of joy, my sharpest critic, and my best partner. I bring the fifteen years. He brings the eight-year-old. Your child's room will be their childhood backdrop. Calvin and I hope to set the stage.
